Tygon® LCF is a specialized thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) tubing created by Saint-Gobain Medical to fulfill the stringent demands of the medical sector. Designed for both flexibility and durability, Tygon LCF boasts an exceptionally low coefficient of friction (COF), making it suitable for applications that require smooth, lubricated movement, such as endoscopes and fiber optic cables. In contrast to conventional fluoropolymers, Tygon LCF can endure gamma sterilization without losing its mechanical strength. Whether utilized in tracheal insertion or urinary procedures, Tygon LCF tubing provides a soft, flexible design that may enhance patient comfort—especially in minimally invasive methods like Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery (N.O.T.E.S.), which accesses the peritoneal cavity through natural openings.
